Understanding the whole person.

Neuroaffirming assessments at Befriend Your Brain take a flexible, collaborative approach to understanding how you or your child thinks, processes information, and experiences the world. We draw on clinical interviews, standardised tools, observation, questionnaires, and relevant clinical history to build a well-rounded picture.

We assess children aged 6+, teenagers, and adults, including high-masking individuals, those exploring a later-life diagnosis, and self-identifying people seeking clarity. Assessment may explore autism, ADHD, giftedness, learning differences, intellectual disability, and related neurodevelopmental differences, alongside anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

Diagnostic clarity matters, but the outcome should also be useful. We explain findings in everyday language so the report can support understanding, practical adjustments, and self-advocacy - not just provide a label.

Focused assessment

Purpose

Diagnostic clarity for autism and/or ADHD without broader cognitive, academic, or functional testing.

Includes

Interview(s), relevant questionnaires, analysis, feedback, and an outcome letter. An optional summary report is available for an additional fee.

Best suited to

Adults seeking personal clarity or concise documentation for a GP, therapist, workplace, or study provider.

Purpose

A personalised combination of interviews, observations, cognitive or academic testing, questionnaires, analysis, feedback, and a detailed report.

Children, teenagers, and adults who need documentation for NDIS purposes, education supports, or a broader neurodevelopmental profile.
