A neuroaffirming, compassion-focused psychology practice for neurodivergent children, teenagers, adults, and families.

About Emily
My name is Emily (she/her), and I’m a Clinical Psychologist passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan. I work with children, teenagers, and adults, whether diagnosed, self-identifying, or still working out what fits. My work is neuroaffirming and trauma-informed, and I welcome all identities.
Much of my work is with autistic and ADHD clients, PDAers, and gifted or twice-exceptional people, but anyone drawn to a compassion-focused, neuroaffirming approach is welcome. You don’t need a diagnosis, or a settled answer about your neurotype, before we begin working together.
I’m especially interested in high-masking presentations and the complex feelings that may come with a later-life diagnosis, including relief, joy, grief, and shame. I also support children and their parents and caregivers. My early-intervention work helps neurodivergent children understand themselves from a strengths-based perspective, build support for transitions and emotional regulation, and access mental health care adapted to how they think and feel.
Outside of work, I’m often walking my rescue dog, Juni, reading a thriller novel, listening to a podcast, waiting in a dreaded Ticketek queue for live music tickets, on the yoga mat, or hunting for Sydney’s best coffee.
Why I do this work
I was drawn to psychology by a deep desire to understand and support people compassionately. I’m also a nerd at heart, so I wanted my care to sit alongside science and statistics.
Neurodivergence became an interest early in my clinical training, when I noticed that the approaches I’d been trained in didn’t always fit the way neurodivergent clients think and feel. That sent me down a neurodiversity rabbit hole of study and training that I haven’t left. Seeing examples of neurodivergent people being excluded from services, or not receiving the care they deserved, strengthened my commitment to care that adapts to the person, rather than asking the person to fit the system.
My Approach
Many people arrive to the therapy space after years of masking, perfectionism, overwhelm, anxiety, or burnout. Many of these responses began as your brain’s way of keeping you safe, so therapy isn’t about overriding them or changing who you are. Together, we make sense of what has helped you cope, what is becoming costly, and what support may fit better.
My work is grounded in Compassion Focused Therapy and draws on other evidence-based approaches, including ACT, DBT, and CBT, adapted to your communication, nervous system, values, and goals. I don’t assume there’s one right way to feel, regulate, or connect. My role is to support you, not 'fix' you.
You can be yourself here, while I bring the structure and evidence-based tools to support meaningful change.
Appointments are available by telehealth across Australia, with a limited number of in-person sessions on Gadigal Land (Sydney).
