Care that startswith understanding.

Warm, collaborative clinical psychology for neurodivergent children, teenagers, and adults across Australia.

A place to begin

Your brain has been working hard to keep you safe.

People often arrive to therapy after years of adapting, masking, pushing through, or wondering why everyday life feels harder than it seems to for others. You may be looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, and you don’t need a diagnosis or a perfectly formed goal to begin.

At Befriend Your Brain, we look at what your brain and nervous system have been trying to do, what’s helping, and what’s becoming costly. The aim isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to build understanding, workable support, and greater self-trust.

Befriending your brain means getting to know it with curiosity and kindness, so you can build a life that fits how you actually work.

We offer therapy, neuroaffirming assessment, and parent and caregiver support for neurodivergent children (6+), teenagers, and adults, including those still working out what fits. Care is collaborative, thoughtfully paced, and adapted to how you communicate, process, and learn.

Now welcoming new clients: telehealth across Australia, with limited in-person sessions on Gadigal Land (Sydney).

What care can look like

Compassionate.Clear.Practical.

01

Start with your questions

You don’t need to know exactly what you need. We begin with what’s happening, what matters to you, and what you hope will feel different.

02

Make sense of it together

We make sense of strengths, patterns, needs, and context without judgement or a one-size-fits-all script.

03

Shape support that fits

Together, we choose practical strategies, accommodations, and next steps that work for your brain, family, and everyday life.

Emily Parker, Clinical Psychologist

Meet Emily

Curious about how brains work, and how to make life fit them.

I’m Emily, a clinical psychologist working with neurodivergent children, teenagers, and adults. A few early placement experiences left me wondering why support wasn’t always accessible, affirming, or equal, and I’ve been following that question ever since. I bring that curiosity, along with specialised training in neurodevelopmental assessment and compassion-focused therapy, to my work with every client and family.

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me walking my rescue dog, Juni, or hunting for Sydney’s best coffee.
